hi, i’m interested in buying this plugin, just need to clarify something. In my wordpress site, i have a postmeta with meta_key = date and meta_value = 1040.01.01, is it possible to search posts by date field (postmeta) with a range using input fields where user enters the desired date by themselves? (e.g. 2 input fields: “From” and “To”. User enters the desired date in “From” and “To” field)

Hey again – ok so the only issue looks like the format of your date – it should be – YYYYMMDD – ie 20151201 – or it can be stored as unix timestamp – you might want to look at some bulk editing plugins to see if this can convert post meta to the format for S&F (a quick google found this, but its still manual – https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-field-bulk-editor/).

      Thanks

  2. I am using a Theme from Restored316Designs on the Genesis Framework. I have two custom fields (each field has multiple values). Will your PRO version allow me to display all the values as a dropdown/radio box? Is there a limit to the number of values that can be displayed?

    Thanks ~

    • Ross

Yup you can display all values, and nope, no limit to how many of the options although things may start slowing down with very high numbers (ie in the hundreds)

    Hi!

With the single site license can I customize the CSS of the plugin?

    Reply
    • Ross

Sure 🙂 You can just add the modified CSS to your theme and overwrite it 🙂

  4. Does your plugin work with Optimize Press?
    Version: 2.5.4.2
Optimize Press allows for JavaScript, custom html code, and short code insertion.

    Thank you

Hi, I’m interested in the site but I have a question.

The search filter can use more than a numeric filter (In demo only attribute price can be numeric)

The search engine can be in index of site also the shop??

    Kind Regards.

    • Ross

yup any meta value, that is numeric can be used in the slider or the other numeric fields – you can create one search form for your shop, and another for another reason such as a blog search 🙂

Where can I find or what are the advantages of both single site and developer license.

    Thanks!

Single site means you can use the license on one site only – whereas a dev license means you can use it on any number of sites – you need a license to receive support or plugin updates. Thanks

Ross, is there any way you can share with me the template that you used for the movie demo site? I am having trouble creating one of my own.

Hi there, I am interested in buying but have a couple of questions:

    1) Can you think of any reason why this plugin could not be used to create a gift-idea generator for an affiliate marketer who wants to link each gift idea to an advertiser site using an affiliate link?

    2) I am not new to wordpress but I usually use store-bought themes and have not used custom types. Is the learning curve for your plugin steep, or should I be able to manage? Note that I ALSO want to have regular blog posts that run parallel to the gift idea generator. Don’t know if that’s relevant.

    3) I only want to use it for one site now, but if it works out well I’d want to roll it out to many sites. Is it possible to upgrade from single use to developer license?

    Thanks!

      Hey Carole

      To answer:

      1) Not sure, I guess so, if you could give a specific example of how your data would be structured I could confirm.
      2) S&F works on only the post types you want – so having a separate blog would not be an issue – you could even create separate additional searches for your blog.
      3) Yup, we have upgrade paths from single site to dev 🙂

      Thanks

  10. Hi,

    1. Will this plugin allow me to filter custom post types using the Go Portfolio plugin. We basically want to display a portfolio and use your plugin to filter via checkboxes and provide a search form.

    2. If so, will the results use the same format as the portfolio?

    Thanks Ryan

    • Ross

      Hi Ryan, to answer:

      1) Yes – as long as the portfolio is a custom post type (this is common for most themes and plugins)
      2) Possibly not – if your template uses the WordPress loop then you could use the same layout with S&F – otherwise you can always customise the default S&F template – and here you can copy over the html / css structure to match that of your portfolio – provided you know what you are doing with html/css

      Thanks

    Hi there,
I’m running a woocommerce store where products have a date custom field. Can I filter results by this custom field date?
    Thank you!

    • Ross

Hey Manuel – sure, S&F supports filtering and sorting by post meta – if it is a date though, it must be stored as YYYYMMDD in the database.

      Thanks

Annual renewal – although if you do not renew you can continue to use S&F no problem, but it is advised to renew to keep up with updates & new releases

We’re using one url as a staging and test site. The live site will be at a permanent URL.

    Is this a single license?

    Thanks

Pre-sales question: Are license renewals $20 also or are they discounted? I just need to provide a cost analysis to my client.

I am considering purchasing the Search & Filter Pro for my client. I am using Genesis and a child theme I developed. Is your plugin fully compatible with Genesis?

    Reply
    • Ross

The plugin will work with any theme, but “fully compatible” perhaps it is not. The only issue I see with users using themes like Genesis, is that you cannot use the layout builders provided by those themes to style the search results. S&F can use any regular WP template, or you can create your own – so if using this method then if fully compatible. But you could not use the page builder for example to create a layout for your results. Hope that helps!
